Our Business
Thermit Alloys (1976): Production of "extra" low carbon ferromanganese and numerous noble ferroalloys like FeV, FeTi, FeW, FeNb, FeZr, FeSiZr, BATS alloy, FeAl and FeB to name a few.
Presently manufactures fused and agglomerated/bonded Submerged Arc Welding (SAW) fluxes for structural, low alloy, pressure vessels, pipe (spiral & long seam) and stainless steel applications. Special fluxes for hard-facing and overlay are also being made for export.

Milan Minerals (1989): Mining of iron and manganese ore. While the iron ore is sold to local steel mills, the manganese ore is utilized at Thermit Alloys and at M. B. Smelters for welding fluxes and manganese-based ferroalloy production. An iron ore beneficiation plant and pig iron making facility using ore & coal fines is being pursued to add further value.
Atomisers: A proprietary company that crushes and powders minerals for group companies and other clients.
Super Alloys & Chemicals: A proprietary company that makes only powders of alloys and minerals.
M. B. Smelters (1987): Production of manganese-based ferroalloys via the submerged arc furnace process route. Annual capacity of 50,000 tons of H.C. FeMn (or 36,000 tons of SiMn) and 7,500 tons of M.C. FeMn. Access to low cost electric power, access to a railway line and a state highway. Located only 110 km from Bengaluru. Easily reaced by road from the international airport (BIAL).
